The Linzergasse
53/Wolf-Dietrich-Strasse 2 was inhabited by Alfred, Erna and Gisela
Pirak. They ran a general store there.
In 1938 they were robbed and driven out of the country by the
Nazis and their supporters. After the Arisierung of her property,
Gisela Pirak had to sell her furniture in order to survive. The
Arisierer, Sepp Viertlbauer, did not have to return anything after
1945, because the restitution commission agreed with his claim
that "the purchase of the applicant's business had nothing
to do with the Nazi's seizure of power".
The family's property has never been returned.
Now it is safe-guarded!
